Leaving from Kathmandu, this fabulous tour has ticked the box at the top of many a traveller’s ‘To Do List’. The helicopter flight will take us over the towering Himalayan giants of Ama Dablam (6856m), Thamserku (6623m), Kantega (6779m), Lhotse (8516m), Nuptse (7861m) and Everest (8848m).The view of the mesmerizing Gokyo Lake from aboard the helicopter is just amazing.
We will stop briefly at Kala Patthar (5545m) – literally meaning ‘black rock’ – which offers an unrivalled summit-to-summit view of Mount Everest. After doing some exploring and taking pictures, we will depart Kala Patthar and fly towards Kongde Ri (6187m) which is home to the world’s highest full-service luxury resort – Yeti Mountain Home (YMH) Kongde. At the resort, we will sit outside to enjoy awesome panoramic views of the Himalayas with Everest itself towering in the middle of it all. We will celebrate the completion of our Everest adventure over champagne and a sumptuous breakfast- a fitting finale to a wonderful and memorable trip. After our meal, we’ll capture a last lifetime memory in a brief photographic session before we board the return flight to Kathmandu.
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
After landing at the Tribhuwan International Airport, we will be greeted by a representative of Guide Pemba who will drop us off at our hotel. We then check-in at the hotel, freshen up and take a rest. In the evening a welcome dinner will be hosted by Guide Pemba. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu and Patan
In Kathmandu, we tour Pashupatinath temple, Swayambhunath stupa and Bouddhanath stupa which are all world heritage sites. Pashupatinath temple is one of the most important places of pilgrimage for all Hindus. Swayambhunath is also known as the Monkey Temple and Baudhanath Stupa is one of the largest stupas in the world. We also visit the Patan Durbar Square which is another World Heritage Site. The square is reminiscent of medieval Kathmandu with beautiful courtyards, temples and shrines noted for their exquisite architecture and delicate carving. We also tour the Patan museum while we are in Patan Durbar Square. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 03: Charter Helicopter tour to Mount Everest
We leave our hotel and travel to the airport at six in the morning. After around an hour, we reach the base camp of Mt. Everest. Our next stop is Kalapathhar where we stop for around ten minutes to admire the mighty Himalayas and Everest in particular. The helicopter will then take us to the beautiful Gokyo Lake. We stop there for a few minutes and admire its view up-close. Next, we fly back to Kathmandu. In the evening, there will be a farewell dinner hosted by Guide Pemba to share our experiences of the amazing Everest Helicopter Tour.
Day 04: Final departure
Our Everest Helicopter Tour in Nepal ends today. A Guide Pemba representative will drop us off at the Tribhuwan International Airport a few hours before the scheduled flight.
